Today Petrol Price in Pakistan Rises to Rs. 258.17 Just Before Ramadan

Today, the government increased the price of petrol in Pakistan by Rs5 to Rs258.17 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs7.32 to Rs275.70 per litre, starting February 16, 2026. This terminates stability at the beginning of the year and disrupts transport, food expenses and household incomes because the current petrol price in Pakistan is soaring several days before the sacred month.

The Petroleum Division issued a notification on February 16, 2026. They increased petrol by Rs5 per litre. The new petrol price now stands at Rs258.17 per litre. High-Speed Diesel (HSD) rose by Rs7.32 per litre to Rs275.70 per litre.

These changes took effect immediately. The adjustment follows the 15-day review based on OGRA recommendations. International oil prices drove the move.

This breaks the stability seen earlier in 2026. Prices had stayed flat after a New Year reduction.

Diesel powers most transport, agriculture, and power generation. The hike will raise costs for goods movement. Food prices will climb as a result. Everyday citizens face extra strain.

The petrol price in Pakistan today at Rs258.17 directly affects private vehicles, bikes, and rickshaws. Middle- and lower-income groups feel the pinch most.

The current world changes and local policy are reflected by the price of petrol in Pakistan today. Monitor the effects of inflation and everyday living in the next few weeks.
