In a bid to streamline the vehicle registration process, Lahore’s Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department has launched a novel mobile vehicle registration service. This innovative service brings the registration process to the comfort of people’s homes, eliminating the need for time-consuming visits to government offices.
The Punjab Excise Mobile Registration Service commenced operations on March 19th at the Bagh-e-Jinnah Quaid-e-Azam Library parking lot. The service will subsequently be available at Liberty Chowk Gulberg on March 20th, Fortress Stadium Lahore Cantt on March 21st, and Johar Town Maulana Shaukat Ali Road Car Market on March 22nd.
In addition to this, the department is collaborating with the Punjab Motors Dealers Association to promote the significance of prompt vehicle registration and transfer. This initiative aims to ensure compliance with the law and prevent unnecessary fines or penalties.
This initiative designed to simplify the vehicle registration process. Now, residents can register their vehicles without the need to queue at government offices.

In January 2024, the Punjab Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Department introduced a digital registration card for vehicles.
