ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Monday assured to bring the dollar below 200 against the rupee as he accused PTI Chairman Imran Khan of destroying the country's economy.
Speaking during the Geo News program Capital Talk, the finance minister said that the real value of the Pakistani rupee is less than 200 against the greenback and will be brought down, as it is currently undervalued.
Commenting on Khan's recent public addresses, Dar said: "Judging by his speeches, Khan seems frustrated."
Suggesting how the PTI chief remains a "blue-eyed" boy, Dar said only Khan was destined for "deals and dheel (favors)".
Commenting further on the PTI chairman's political achievements, he said it was a "bargained outcome".
"Imran Khan staged a sit-in on the basis of the deal," he said, adding that the PTI chairman held Islamabad "hostage" for 126 days, making the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project a Delayed for years.
Warning him of dire consequences, Dar urges Khan to take it seriously and stay within his bounds.
The finance minister added that Khan and his entire team are obsessed with him because they fear that PML-N will once again stabilize Pakistan's economy like they did in 2013.
Dar reiterated his suggestion that the country needed a Charter of Economy.
Responding to a question regarding PTI leader Hamad Azhar's accusation of finance minister for manipulation of economic data, Dar said, "Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) is an independent institution and It is not involved in manipulative activities.”
