Maryam Aurangzeb harassment incident and social media debate: 'This series will never end'
A few videos have gone viral on social media in Pakistan since last night, in which Federal Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb is being harassed by a group of men and women on London's "Agware Street".
People belonging to this group can be heard and seen using abusive language towards Maryam Aurangzeb, shouting at her and calling her abusive names.
In the videos, it can be seen that these people are wearing the party flag of Tehreek-e-Insaaf around their necks and they are making videos of the incident with their mobile phones.
There are also megaphones in the hands of one or two persons on which they continue to use political slogans and obscene words.
Maryam Aurangzeb quietly enters a cafe without answering, but the gang follows her there too with their megaphones, cameras and slogans.
Even inside the cafe, this group continues its work, but Maryam Aurangzeb continues to smile and drink coke in response, and her reaction is also severely criticized by a woman present there.
It should be remembered that Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb is part of the delegation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif who is currently in London to meet and consult with the leader of the Muslim League, Mian Nawaz Sharif.
This official delegation arrived in London after attending the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in America.
In another such viral video, she is standing in the same cafe patiently answering the questions of a young girl and explaining to her that 'Protest is your right but the best way is to vote.'
Maryam can also be heard saying, 'You have your right and your country, which we respect. But everything has a method. If someone harasses your own sister or mother like this on the street, would you feel good?'
"10 minutes ago there were 20 PTI people here with a microphone insulting me, calling me names, and I didn't react," she says.
Maryam also says that 'if you people harass me in this way, it does not matter to me, but the patience I show in front of him increases my stature, but this method is not the identity of our country. is bad for.'
After these videos came out, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also condemned it saying that Maryam Aurangzeb's reaction to being harassed by PTI supporters shows her integrity.
With his calm and dignified demeanor, he has exposed the ugly faces of harassers and those who promote such behavior.
