The young pacer made his international debut for England in 2024 and played two ODI and two T20I matches for the national side. Before being hampered by injuries, Turner was considered one of the most promising young fast bowlers in England.

John Turner was sidelined for over a year after suffering a stress fracture in his back in June last year, which kept him away from competitive cricket. Although he has been rehabilitated, this injury is an ongoing problem that finally led to his retirement.
