Petrol Price in Pakistan Increased by Rs 4.93 Per Litre, OGRA Announces New Rates

The petrol price in Pakistan has increased again, just one day after a slight reduction in fuel prices. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has issued a new notification announcing revised petrol prices in Pakistan and diesel rates for July 22.

The latest OGRA notification has announced that the price of petrol in Pakistan has been fixed at Rs. 320.73 per litre. Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has increased by Rs. The new diesel price will be Rs. 367.21 per litre.

Besides, the kerosene oil has also been hiked up by Rs. 6.78 per litre. After the revision, the new price of kerosene has been fixed at Rs. 289.37 per litre.

OGRA Announces Daily Petrol Price Updates

According to the latest OGRA petrol price notification, the new petrol rates are to be valid from July 22. The government has now adopted a new pricing mechanism under which prices of petroleum products in Pakistan will be reviewed and declared daily, in alignment with the changing market situation in the region.

In this arrangement, OGRA will notify the current price of petrol in Pakistan without the need for the approval of the federal government or the Prime Minister. The prices, however, will not be changed on Saturday or Sunday.

Previous Fuel Price Revision

A day earlier, for July 21, the government had reduced the petrol price in Pakistan by Rs. 0.35 per litre. At the same time, the price of high-speed diesel was increased by Rs. 5.71 per litre, making the latest announcement another significant adjustment in fuel prices.

As people are paying attention to the daily price changes in fuel, the volatile petrol prices in Pakistan will likely impact transportation prices, inflation, and the cost of living.
