Bangladesh Sends Tk 1 Crore Emergency Relief Supplies to Iran

Bangladesh just sent emergency medical aid to Iran. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman ordered this urgent humanitarian dispatch. The Bangladesh Red Crescent Society handled the logistics. They handed over life-saving supplies to the Iranian Ambassador this morning. This move makes Bangladesh the first responder in the current Middle East crisis.

Dhaka Leads Humanitarian Response for Iran

The Secretary General of the Red Crescent, Dr. Kabir M. Ashraf Alam, formally delivered the goods. These supplies arrived at the Iranian Embassy in Dhaka on Thursday morning. The package targets civilians affected by recent regional aggression. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman personally allocated Tk 1 crore (10 million BDT) for this mission on April 6.

Foreign Ministry officials attended the handover ceremony. Secretary Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam voiced deep concern over the loss of life. He emphasized that Bangladesh remains a committed advocate for global peace. Iranian Ambassador Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi expressed gratitude for the gesture. He noted the deep-rooted friendship between the two nations.

This aid follows a recent breakthrough in maritime security. Iran recently agreed to ensure safe passage for Bangladeshi vessels through the Strait of Hormuz. The Red Crescent confirms they are ready for further support if needed. Experts view this as a major shift in Dhaka’s proactive foreign policy under the new administration.
