A strange yet intriguing incident took place during Dr. Zakir Naik’s lecture at the Polo Ground in Karachi on Sunday. The famous religious scholar, who’s well-known globally, was delivering his lecture near the Governor’s House and later opened the floor for a question-and-answer session. As usual, he divided the participants into two groups: Muslims and non-Muslims.
That’s when things took an unexpected turn. A young boy named Rafi, trying to get his chance to speak sooner, pretended to be a Christian. When his turn came, he asked Dr. Naik a rather bold question: Why is Pakistan, despite holding such huge religious gatherings, still topping the charts for things that are prohibited by Allah?
Dr. Naik, being the calm and knowledgeable figure he is, gave a detailed answer. However, what surprised everyone was when Rafi suddenly confessed that he wasn’t Christian after all – he was a Muslim. When asked why he lied, his response was simple, “I was getting late.”
In his usual calm manner, Dr. Naik pointed out that pretending to be Christian as a Muslim was a sin. Realizing his mistake, Rafi, a student from Karachi University, immediately apologized and admitted he shouldn’t have lied. Dr. Naik accepted the apology and guided him to reaffirm his faith by reciting the Shahada.
After delivering lectures in Karachi, Dr. Naik set to hold private meetings in the city from October 7 to 10. He’ll then head to Lahore for talks on October 12 and 13, followed by Islamabad on October 19 and 20, with all events being aired live on Peace TV for viewers worldwide.
