Riot in marriage for asking for ras gula, one barati killed

 An argument ensued over a barati's demand for extra ras ghala, in which a barati died in hospital.

 If there is an opportunity for happiness and there is no juice, happiness seems incomplete.  Soft, round and full of juice and sometimes wrapped in silver foil, this rasa gula turns bitterness into sweetness.  But no one thought that this juice can cause death.

 Something similar happened near the city of Agra in Uttar Pradesh.  At a wedding, a young man died and several people were injured in a fight between baratis and girls over ras gula.  Barat returned without the bride.

 A video has gone viral on social media since Thursday, in which the scene of people being beaten up at a wedding venue has been shown.

 According to reports, there was a wedding of two sisters in the town of Etimadpur last Wednesday.  The procession came from the nearby town of Khandowli.  Many Baratis had gone back after eating.  Some of the processions were waiting for the wedding.

 Khalil Ahmad, a relative of the deceased youth, said that a barati had asked for a ras gula.  Perhaps their first juice had fallen.  The householders forbade giving juice to the herd.  This was repeated among the children and the matter escalated to beatings.  Baratis had to return without the bride.

 A relative of the girl's side said that everything was going on smoothly, but the quarrel over a trivial matter escalated to such an extent that the situation went out of control.

 Superintendent of Police of Agra Rural Zone, Satyajit Gupta, told the BBC that the gharatis and baratis started beating each other with slaps and slaps after asking for ras gula at the wedding.  In the same commotion, someone started beating with a big shovel for removing food, in which one Barati died in the hospital.

 He said that five or six people were also injured in this incident.  A case of murder has been registered in this connection and one person has been arrested.  Further investigation is underway.  He said that after this commotion, the marriage could not take place and Barat returned without a bride.

 After this incident, the marriage house has turned into grief.  The local administration has deployed additional police in the town as a precautionary measure in view of the tension
